LOCTITE® 5117 is a dark brown to black, viscous, black, non-hardening, brushable liquid thread sealant for general purpose metal pipe sealing. It is designed for locking and sealing metal threaded pipes and fittings and is ideal for water pipes. It is typically used in applications with an operating range of -65.2 °F to +399.2 °F (-54 °C to +204 °C).
